Hi there,
Top of the day to you!
On behalf of Ivacy VPN I would like to bring to your knowledge that we will no longer be providing physical servers in India. Our decision comes after the recent orders issued by India’s cyber security agency CERT-In, which require VPN service providers to collect and store user data for up to five years.
Since inception, Ivacy VPN has advocated internet privacy and freedom for its users and complying with these new orders does not align with our vision. Therefore, Ivacy VPN has made a very straightforward decision to remove all its Indian-based physical servers.
However, users will still be able to connect and obtain Indian IP addresses using virtual servers located in Singapore. Our engineering team has assured us that there will be minimal difference when it comes to user experience. Our apps across all platforms have been updated and users wanting to connect to Indian IP addresses will be able to do so via virtual servers.
With this shift in data retention laws, we have adjusted our infrastructure to best protect our user’s privacy and security. These changes came into effect on June 25, 2022.
Kindest regards,
Ivacy Team
